Tiny Hearts of America was founded on a simple belief: where a child comes from should never determine how far that child can go.
My name is DaMitchell D. Moore, Founder and President of Tiny Hearts of America. This organization is more than something I founded—it represents a mission that is deeply personal to me.
My Backstory
I was born in Georgia and raised in the small town of McCormick, South Carolina. Growing up, I experienced firsthand how quickly circumstances can change a child's life and how important it is for young people to have stability, encouragement, resources, positive adults, and someone willing to stand beside them.
Those experiences stayed with me.
As I became an adult and a father, I began looking at children and families differently. I saw children experiencing hunger. I saw families trying to make limited resources stretch from one paycheck to another. I saw young people who needed mentorship and opportunities. I saw concerns surrounding mental and emotional wellness, education, violence, bullying, and community safety.
But I also saw something else: potential.
I saw children who could become tomorrow's doctors, teachers, social workers, entrepreneurs, nurses, engineers, community leaders, and advocates—if someone would simply invest in them.
That belief became part of the foundation for Tiny Hearts of America.
I didn't start this organization because I believed one nonprofit could solve every problem facing children and families. I started it because I believe doing nothing cannot be an option.
Tiny Hearts of America began with a commitment to serve and has continued growing through volunteers, community relationships, partnerships, outreach, and people who believe children deserve opportunities to thrive.
Our Mission
The mission of Tiny Hearts of America is to improve the lives of children and families by addressing critical needs including food insecurity, educational opportunities, emotional wellness, essential resources, youth development, and safe environments through compassionate, community-driven programs, outreach, partnerships, and support services.
We don't simply want to provide temporary assistance. We want to help create pathways toward stronger children, stronger families, and stronger communities.
Our Vision
Our vision is a future where every child—regardless of ZIP code, family income, background, or circumstances—has access to the resources, encouragement, safety, education, nourishment, mentorship, and opportunities needed to reach their fullest potential.
Our work may begin in communities across South Carolina, but our vision reaches much farther.
We envision Tiny Hearts of America becoming a collaborative network capable of connecting families, nonprofits, businesses, schools, healthcare organizations, government agencies, volunteers, donors, and community leaders throughout the United States and eventually internationally.
Because compassion should never have geographical boundaries.
Our Purpose
Find the gaps. Build the bridges. Connect the resources. Serve the people. Protect the children. Strengthen the community.
Through programs and initiatives focused on hunger relief, education, emotional wellness, safety, mentorship, essential needs, family assistance, and community development, Tiny Hearts of America works to address both immediate needs and long-term opportunities.
We believe meaningful community change doesn't happen when organizations compete to see who receives the credit. It happens when people collaborate to accomplish the mission.

A Message to Families
To every parent, guardian, grandparent, caregiver, and family:
We see you.
Sometimes families need help—not because they have failed, but because life can change unexpectedly.
There should never be shame in seeking resources that can help your family move forward.
Tiny Hearts of America wants families to know that our doors, partnerships, programs, and community relationships are being built with you in mind.
We may not always have every resource ourselves, but we will continue working to build relationships with organizations and agencies that can help families find the support they need.
You are part of the community we serve, and your voice matters.
A Message to Our Children & Youth
To every child and young person:
Your current circumstances do not have to become your final destination.
Dream bigger than what you can currently see.
Your life has value. Your ideas matter. Your education matters. Your mental and emotional well-being matters. Your safety matters. Your future matters.
There will be people who underestimate you. There will be obstacles that make you question yourself. There may even be moments when the future seems uncertain.
Keep going.
There is greatness inside you that the world hasn't seen yet.
Tiny Hearts of America exists because we believe you are worth investing in.

A nonprofit can have an extraordinary vision, but meaningful community impact requires collaboration.

A Message to Fellow Nonprofit Organizations
To nonprofit founders, executive directors, board members, volunteers, and community leaders:
We don't have to compete to serve the same communities.
One organization cannot—and should not—try to do everything.
If your organization provides something we don't, let's connect families to you. If we provide something your families need, connect them to us. If our missions intersect, let's build something together.
Let's share resources when possible, collaborate on grants and initiatives when appropriate, exchange referrals, support one another's programs, and build stronger community networks.
There is enough need in our communities for all of us to have work to do.
The mission must always be bigger than the organization's name.
A Message to Resource Providers
To government agencies, schools, colleges, healthcare systems, food providers, workforce-development organizations, foundations, community centers, transportation providers, housing organizations, mental-health resources, businesses, and other service providers:
Tiny Hearts of America wants to help build the bridge between your resources and the families who need them.
Families shouldn't have to navigate dozens of disconnected systems alone.
We want to create stronger pathways for referrals, information sharing, community outreach, resource navigation, collaborative programming, and coordinated support.
When organizations communicate, families benefit.
Where We Are Going
Tiny Hearts of America is still writing its story.
We are building programs. We are developing partnerships. We are recruiting volunteers and leaders. We are expanding community resources. We are strengthening our infrastructure. We are creating technology to better connect organizations and communities. And we are thinking beyond today's needs toward what children and families will need tomorrow.
There will be challenges. There will be doors that close. There will be funding requests that are denied. There will be ideas that require patience before they become reality.
But none of those things change the mission.
We will keep building. We will keep serving. We will keep advocating. We will keep partnering. We will keep showing up.
Because behind every statistic is a child. Behind every request for assistance is a family. Behind every community challenge is an opportunity for people to come together and create something better.
From My Heart to Yours
As Founder and President, I don't want Tiny Hearts of America to simply become another organization people recognize by name.
I want people to recognize us by our work.
By the meals distributed.
By the children encouraged.
By the families connected to resources.
By the partnerships created.
By the young people mentored.
By the communities strengthened.
And by the lives touched along the way.
